effect of hyperthermia before neutron irradiation on chromosomal damages of human lymphocytes

چکیده
due to importance of combination therapies in cancer treatment, this study was performed to find the effects of hyperthermia and neutron irradiation and heir combination on the human lymphocytes. blood samples were treated separately with 41.5 °c for 30 and 60 minutes, 43 °c for 15 and 30 minutes, as well as 10 cgy neutron irradiation. they also treated with hyperthermia followed by irradiation. after tissue culture and staining, chromosomal damages were scored. the results showed that hyperthermia at 41.5°c did not cause chromosomal damages, but it caused damages at 43 °c (p<0.05). in comparison to the hyperthermia alone and control group, the frequency of damage in 10 cgy neutron irradiation was higher (p<0.05). pre-hyperthermia at both 41.5°c and 43°c did not affect the frequency of chromosomal damages resulted from neutron irradiation.

متن کاملInduction of Chromosomal Damages in Lymphocytes Induced by Radiopaque Substances
The iodinated radiopaques are widely used in radiologicals procedures for their higher quality and for better pathological diagnosis. Since they are numerous and can lead to cellular toxicity and/or genotoxicity, this study was carried out to investigate the efficacy of two routine compounds, that is, urographin 76% and telbrix 38. For this purpose, the metaphasic chromosomes of 30 patients un...

Background: To evaluate the effects of hyperthermia (HT) on the frequency of chromosomal aberrations induced by a low dose of neutron or γ-rays in human peripheral blood lymphocytes. Materials and Methods: Blood samples were exposed to HT (41.5°C for 30 and 60min, 43°C for 15 and 30min), 10 cGy neutron or γ-rays, HT + neutron/γ, and neutron/γ + HT. After standard cell culture, harvestin...

15 صفحه اولVariablity of chromosomal radioadaptive response in human lymphocytes.
Background : There are growing evidences for chromosomal radioadaptive response in human lymphocytes . Highly variable inter- and intra-individual responses have been reported. Some individuals are non-responders and even in some donors the frequency of chromatid aberrations induced by a challenge dose increases by pre-exposure to an adapting dose. It has been proposed that the lack of radioada...
